The history of the 1711 Luxury Guest House goes back many centuries, in fact the initial construction started in the Middle Ages, more precisely 1153, when the first section of the present structure was built. The noble family Strigelli, more than 600 years later, completed the work and was first used as a “place of hospitality”: in fact, 1711 soon became a shelter for the family’s workers, who felt safe and protected from soldiers and brigands, living close to their place of work.
The charm of this enchanted place lies in the harmonious bond it has with the nature that surrounds it: 1711 Luxury Guest House has created its eternal soul from the River Adda nearby. The stones, once smoothed by the incessant flow of the water that lapped around the village of Arlate, have now become the thick, strong walls. If you look up, you can still see the original ceilings with their wooden beams.
After a long period of abandonment, 1711 was returned to its former glory thanks to the hard work and passion of the D’Angelo family. In 2005 Rosa and Amedeo bought the building and began the intense and important work needed to restore it, all overseen personally by Signora Rosa.
Today, 1711 Luxury Guest House is an oasis of beauty, peace and comfort, where guests can rediscover a closeness with nature, free their minds and temporarily get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
