Built in 1711, to provide lodgings for the Strigelli family’s workers, ‘Il Portico’ after major restoration has come back to life thanks to the passion of the D’Angelo family.
Attention to detail and love of beauty were the principles behind our renovation project to turn Il Portico into a luxury Guest House. The ancient charm of the original buildings blends seamlessly with modern design, generating a sense of peace and harmony which accompanies guests throughout their stay.
Each room has a unique style with its own personality. We invite you to come and try an out-of-time experience, immersed in the natural beauty of the Adda Park and the history of Arlate village.

1711: per tanti è solo un numero, per la famiglia D’Angelo è stato un segno del destino. Il ritrovamento di una pietra molera con inciso 1711 è stata la scintilla che ha fatto nascere un grande sogno, quello di riqualificare un’affascinante corte con più di 300 anni di storia.

Nestled in the Adda River Park, surrounded by history and nature, Il Portico is strategically located to the most important locations in Lombardy including Milan, Monza, Bergamo, Lake Como, Lecco, and Bellagio as well as the renowned vineyards of Franciacorta which can all be reached in less than an hour. For those who love the mountains, there are many places nearby with beautiful Alpine views and numerous hiking trails.
Nearby, you can also discover some of the treasures of Brianza, places that inspired some of the greatest Italian minds of all times such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Alessandro Manzoni. You can climb the interminable steps to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Bosco , walk along the River Adda or take a crossing on the Traghetto Leonardesco. Last but not least, you can enjoy an excellent ice cream in the historic center of Brivio. These are just a few examples of the numerous experiences available to you only a few minutes’ walk from Il Portico.

Immersed in nature, you will live an experience out of time in a place that inspired great artists of the past, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Alessandro Manzoni. Absolutely not to be missed!
